Such a wonderful trip!

The later it got into our trip, the more brilliant the autumn colors around us became. From Marquette we moved back down to the northern regions of the lower part of Michigan, spending a couple of days in Grayling, followed by Ludington, where fishing was not so good, but the time together was great.

GRAYLING:

Preparing for fishing
Our canoe fits right in with the fall colors
Ready to launch
The Pick-Up Point

Few fish, but a wonderful day!

Celebrating with a beer and burger at Spikes Pub

Followed by Deer-Hunter at Spikes Pub
Breakfast at at typical "Mom-and-Pop" restaurant in Grayling; note the beast above our heads!

LUDINGTON:

NEWAYGO:

What a glorious "lecture hall"!

Watching over the important stuff

We arrived home on Sept. 30 from a trip of a lifetime!  What a gift to be blessed with time together with adult children, to get to know them as the exceptional adults they have become rather than just the wonderful children we remember them to be.  : )

The next "big" trip will be to see Mark, but for that one we'll be trading in our little Silver Spirit for big brother: a silver Amtrak train.
