We took our last camping trip of this year last weekend. We had intended to go north to an unexplored state park in Michigan, but heard that leaves were pretty much gone in that area by now, and the day we left for our travels was cold, rainy, and very windy - it would have meant a long 6+ hour drive in those conditions, so we changed direction and went southwest to Tippecanoe River State Park in Indiana. This is a lovely, well-maintained park along a nice canoeing river, with lots of hiking and biking trails. The next two days were beautiful, so we biked, and we hiked, but the canoeing will have to wait for another trip.
On the way home we stopped at the RV/MH Hall of Fame; they have a nice exhibit detailing the evolution of camping vehicles. It is interesting to note that "something old is new again" holds true for many new and "cutting edge" models of today; remarkably, although exteriors have changed a lot, the concept of interior arrangements have remained somewhat static. Unfortunately, most of the photos I took did not turn out due to a camera problem.
